Introduction: AKR Home depot Ltd,a part of AKR Viyapaar Ltd-Estd.1998, is being newly established with the concept of making all kinds of building materials available under one roof. Over the period of time, AKR Viyapaar Ltd has grown along with the Chennai steel industries development and today is considered as the undisputed leader in the field of building materials and allied products through out Tamil Nadu.
Progress: The Company started with trading of Iron & Steel, scrap, the import and trading of materials for the building construction and industrial equipments. Owing to technological developments and rapidly increasing demand of the sector, AKR planned to open a new entity in the name “AKR Home Depot” to cater to the growing needs of its customers. This helped AKR HOME ...DEPOT to focus on identifying, sourcing and supplying the right kind of items related to construction and building materials, interior decoration, and related activities. Today the group has widened its operation by opening various units in Madurai, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore etc and it works on the opening up of new units in various parts of Tamil Nadu and other states by 2010.. Future plans include the opening of new units and sales offices in other countries.
Today, the company supplies to most of the major infrastructural and construction projects that are being undertaken in the state.
